Sequence
The choreography seems to be conceived purely on the basis of form: it is a clear composition with rigidly delineated components. As though her old abstract style were coming back. The erotic affection is striking, an element that was never before and certainly not so clearly incorporated in de Châtel’s work. The inventiveness of the movements and the orchestration of the whole, which are underscored by an excellent performance, establish the true value of Sequence. (Het Parool)
Krisztina de Châtel now brings the sober, almost modest performance Sequence, composed of three solos, a duet, a trio, a quartet and a closing quintet. It deals with pure dance. Against a background of straight rows of glass jar bottoms, de Châtel places dance compositions that are clear as the glistening glass and playful as the colourful light patterns they reverberate.
