Objectworx

Objectworx

The moving body is presented as an object. Not as a lifeless entity, but as part of an installation which emphasises the spatial qualities of the body. In order to make the moving body visible from all angles a video installation was developed which portrays the body as a mobile, spatial object.

The movements of one female dancer were registered from four different angles and projected onto four revolving screens. Dancer Cecilia Moisio interacts with the constantly changing space, while the movements of her on-screen counterpart are projected on the walls. The shifts, duplications and interpolations in the movements and the projections create a field of tension that is at once temporal and spatial.

Objectworx was part of Synergie, a production that Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel developed with the Utrecht College of Arts and the Rotterdam Productiehuis.
