Pulse

Pulse

Contrasts also form an important feature in Pulse, a powerful choreography set to the music of the Hungarian composer György Ligeti. In Ligeti’s piano études, mechanical and organic sounds come together in a driving pulse, like a kind of heartbeat for the dance. In response, the choreography displays rigid lines and swirling movements, but also passionate solos in which the individual breaks away from the group. ‘A new classic in de Châtel’s oeuvre.’ (NRC Handelsblad).

Pulse was togheter with choreographies by Conny Janssen and Ann Van den Broek part of the DANSCombinatie.
