Dancing as a healing process, this is how the men of Delta Psychiatric Centre in Rotterdam experience their dance therapy and the work they do as part of Krisztina de Châtel’s choreography.
Experiences in these men’s past have damaged their sexual development. By dancing they create a new relationship with their bodies and experience feelings that were until then repressed. Psychological barriers are broken down, simply by the conscious physicality of dance.
These groups of men fascinate Krisztina de Châtel. ‘They are strong but vulnerable. Together with our dancers we are going to invest all our energy to turn this into something wonderful.’
