Audition for restaging of Pulse and Thirteen Images From The Dark Land

A coproduction of De Châtel sur place and SALLY Dance Company Maastricht

Thirteen Images

Krisztina de Châtel is looking for an experienced dancer (m) for the restaging of existing choreographies with rehearsal period in spring and premiere in the fall of 2019.

Thirteen Images From The Dark Land and Pulse
With Thirteen Images From The Dark Land (2017) Krisztina de Châtel created a duet that focuses on human contact. We can recognize the present chaotic world of modern man in the encounter of two men that challenge each other and find each other in solidarity.
In Pulse (2007) repetitive piano sounds draw along three men and three women as if taken by a hurricane. Music and movement pull them through the space as one group, then again individually or in a duet.

For this restaging Krisztina de Châtel specifically seeks an experienced male dancer with a length between 1,75-1,80m, strong dance technique, virtuosity and precision.

The candidates should have completed a professional dance education, preferably in modern/contemporary, and have an affinity with existing repetitive minimalistic movement patterns. They need to be highly skilled in jumping as well as floor work, and have a very good stamina. We are specifically interested in dancers that from their background can contribute to the reflection on cultural identity that this performance aims to address.

A compilation of Pulse can be watched on YouTube.
